Facade installation is wrapping up at Aurora Capital Associates’ residential condo building The Keller at 150 Barrow in the West Village. Designed by BKSK Architects, the two-building development includes a new seven-story structure clad in white brick and large windows with brass toned metal accents. An adjacent structure, the former Keller Hotel building from 1898 by Julius Munckwitz, is currently undergoing a gut interior renovation.

9-19 9th Avenue
Northeast corner of 21-27 Ninth Avenue (right) and 9-19 Ninth Avenue (left).
Construction is underway on BKSK Architects' 2 1/2 story addition to 9-19 Ninth Avenue, a commercial structure in the Gansevoort Market Historic District that is slated to become the latest outpost for Restoration Hardware. The project is located adjacent to the firm's recently renovated 21-27 Ninth Avenue, a residential-to-commercial conversion on the northeast corner of the block. Because the projects fell within the historic district, both were required to receive approval from the Landmarks Preservation Commission, which they received in 2014.
Perched atop an existing 2-story masonry base that served as a warehouse, the new 2 1/2-story glass-enclosed addition contrasts with the heavy volume below. A metal screen with a mixture of clear and patterned translucent glass panels acts as a secondary facade for the new volume.

One Vandam
Much of the limestone and glass curtain wall has been installed at BKSK Architects' One Vandam on the boundary of the SoHo and Hudson Square neighborhoods. The 14-story, 25-unit residential condo tower features an exterior envelop comprised of three elements: metal, glass, and limestone panels from a quarry in Alabama. A randomized pattern is created by three unit types: glass, limestone panels on the exterior, and a back-pan limestone panel that sits behind the glass. Among the panels still to be installed are those at the top floor penthouse, including the triple height stair of Penthouse A, visible in the center of the west facade's top three floors. Construction should be complete sometime later this year.
