Construction is nearing completion at the New Empire Corporation’s 19-story residential condo tower in the Long Island City neighborhood of Queens. Designed by ODA, the tower features their signature massing that erodes as it reaches the topmost floors. Strong horizontal bands every other floor allows for balconies with metal picket railings for many residential units. The undulating facade is clad with a fluted bronze toned metal panel and large punch windows that increase in height and width at the topmost floors.

740 Eighth Avenue - The Torch

Superstructure is ongoing at Extell’s 52-story mixed-use supertall tower in Midtown Manhattan. Designed by ODA Architecture, the tower will feature ground floor retail and an 825-key hotel that wraps around three existing low-rise structures at the base and tapers skyward into a columnar structure that will be capped by a multi-tier public observation deck. The superstructure has surpassed the 20th floor in its rise towards 1,067 feet.

Construction has wrapped up at the 21-story residential condo tower The Harper on the Upper East Side by the developer Izaki Group Investments. The tower sits mid-block on the south side of East 86th Street between First and Second avenues. Designed by ODA, the tower’s massing features an eroded volume at the topmost floors and cantilevered bay windows on the east facade that overhang an existing five-story building. The facade is clad in limestone panels and large floor-to-ceiling windows.

555 Broadway - Lorimer House and the Copper Lofts

Construction is nearing completion at Lorimer House and the Copper Lofts, a two-building residential development at 555 Broadway in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Developers Meral Property Group, Joyland Group, and Loketch Group are behind the rental units at Lorimer House and the Copper Lofts. ODA has designed the project with rounded corners to soften the form and conform to the shape of the site. The project is clad in a beige brick, punch window with warm toned metal panel accents, and silver toned metal panel at slab edges and vertical piers between windows.

Construction has wrapped up at Quay Tower, one of two towers by developers RAL Companies, Oliver's Realty Group, and Vanke US that anchor the southern boundary of Brooklyn Bridge Park. Designed by ODA New York, the towers feature a contrast in facade types with the 28-story Quay Tower clad in a metal and glass curtain wall, while the 15-story 15 Bridge Park Drive is wrapped in precast concrete and glass panels.

Facade installation is wrapping at New Empire’s residential condo building 208 Delancey on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Designed by ODA New York, the 12-story residential building features a L-shaped massing with rounded corners that afford curved glass interior corners or outdoor terraces for many units. The facade is clad in ribbons of glass and beige brick that reference the existing buildings of the neighborhood. Residents will have access to a collection of amenities that include a residential lobby with adjacent resident lounge and courtyard, fitness center with an outdoor meditation terrace, and a rooftop terrace with an outdoor kitchen.

Facade installation is ongoing at Adam America Real Estate and Northlink Capital’s 20-story residential tower The Westly on the Upper West Side. Designed by ODA New York, the tower massing features a series of cantilevers at the north facade, extending out over an existing four story structure. When completed, the project will offer 57 units and amenities that include a lounge, teen lounge, fitness center, roof deck with outdoor pool, music practice room, children’s playroom, storage, bike room, central laundry room, and pet washing station.

Construction Update: 212 West 93rd Street

Construction is wrapping up at Landsea Homes and Leyton Properties’ boutique residential condo building 212 West 93rd Street on the Upper West Side. The 14-story, 20-unit condo building is the first ground-up development in Manhattan for Landsea Homes, a California-based homebuilding company. Along with the residential program, the building will be the new home for the Shaare Zedek synagogue at the first two floors and the lower level.

Design of the development is led by ODA New York and features their signature deconstructed facade driven by each home’s influence on the structural form. The facade strategically erodes or expands outward to accommodate private outdoor space for most units.

Interiors of the one-to-four bedroom units are designed by GRADE New York and feature wood-clad windows looking out onto the outdoor terraces created by the eroded massing. Kitchens feature custom-stained rift cut oak and Ghiaccio grey lacquer cabinets, high-honed Volakas marble countertop and backsplash, an island with matching marble countertop, Miele appliances, and Grohe faucet. Bathrooms feature Italian Lymra Limestone floors, countertops, and tub surrounds.

Construction Update: The Wharf DC - Phase Two
Construction is ongoing at The Wharf’s phase two development at the Southwest Waterfront in Washington, DC. Developers Hoffman & Associates and Madison Marquette opened phase one in October 2016 with five buildings with residential, hotel, office, retail, and private event space. When completed in 2022, the second phase will offer 1.25 million square feet of mixed-use space in five additional buildings and two water buildings at the southern half of The Wharf.
Parcels 6 and 7
SHoP Architects is overseeing the design of Parcel 6 and 7’s 500,000 square feet of Class A office space and 33,000 square feet of retail space. The program is split among two buildings connected at the lower levels and clad in a glass curtain wall.

Water Building 1
Hollwich Kushner is overseeing the design of Water Building 1, a three-story hospitality structure built over a pier in the Potomac River. A steel ring truss of rectangular hollow sections and glass curtain wall clad the lower two floors of the concrete flat slab structure.
Parcel 8
ODA New York is leading the design on the mixed-use Parcel 8 building, which will offer 235 apartments and a 131-key hotel with 10,000 square feet of retail at the base.

Curtain wall installation is nearing completion at Gemini Rosemont’s 13-story residential condo building at 101 West 14th Street in Greenwich Village. Designed by ODA New York, the condo building features the architect’s signature eroded massing that affords covered balconies and stepped terraces at the upper floors. When completed, the project will offer 44 residential condo units, 21 of which will be duplexes.

The building offers 44 condo units, ranging in size from 1-to-4-bedrooms, with duplex layouts for almost half of the residences. Along with floor-to-ceiling glass windows, residences also feature wide plank oak flooring, custom kitchen cabinetry by GD, Italian Fior di Bosch stone kitchen countertops and backsplashes, and Bleu de Savoie honed marble bathroom floors and showers.
