Facade installation is wrapping up at the Atrium at Sumner, an affordable senior housing development in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn. Designed by Studio Libeskind, the 10-story structure sits on vacant land on the NYCHA Sumner Houses campus. When completed, the development will provide approximately 190 units, along with an indoor garden, a central atrium, and a multi-use performing arts space at the ground floor.

2550 3rd Avenue - Tres Puentes

Tres Puentes, part of the South Bronx’s recent revitalization, is a two building senior housing development recently completed by SGVA. The project includes 175 apartments for seniors and individuals with special needs spread across two buildings, a 11-story west building and a 8-story east building. Along with the residential units, the project includes 10,000 square feet of health-oriented commercial and community space. The adjacent Borinquen Court Senior Center has also been expanded for neighborhood residents.

Hunter's Point South Commons and Hunter's Point South Crossing
Construction is in the late stages at Hunters Point South's first two towers, by SHoP Architects and Ismael Leyva Architects. Exterior wall has surpassed the two-thirds mark on both buildings, with full enclosure by early 2015. Applications are currently being accepted for all 925 units in the project, which fall under the affordable housing program and range in income levels. The deadline for applications is December 15. Move-ins are slated to begin in the spring of 2015.
