Construction Update: 50 West 66th Street

Facade installation is ongoing at Extell and Tennor Holding B.V.’s 69-story residential condo tower on the Upper West Side. Designed by Snohetta, the tower features a 15-story podium clad in a curtain wall with a grid of two-story glass openings. A shared amenity terrace will be located on the 16th floor and marks the transition to a slender tower above that is clad with a more predominantly glass curtain wall panel with thin bronze grid.

Construction is wrapping up at The Park Loggia, AvalonBay Communities’ 32-story residential condo tower on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), the tower features a terracotta and punch window facade, with outdoor terraces at the east and west facades. Residences range in size from one- to four-bedrooms, with 172 units on offer. A wide range of amenities designed by Pembrooke & Ives are available to residents, including a landscaped terrace, private dining, fitness center, theater and music practice rooms, children’s playroom, screening room, and a rooftop crown loggia.

Handel Architects' concrete diagrid tower at Lincoln Square is approaching actual topping out, following the ceremonial celebration a few weeks back.  The tarp covering the lower half of the floors has been removed to reveal the black framed windows of the exterior enclosure.  When completed, the 20 story tower will accommodate 239 residential units.

The diagrid concrete structure is rising at Handel Architects' 170 Amsterdam. With 14 of 20 floors poured, the residential building is over the half way mark of its 185 foot height. When completed, the project will include 236 residential units and join the firm's other residential building, 150 Amsterdam, a block south.
