Hudson Yards
Progress continues at Related's Hudson Yards mega-project on the Far West Side of Manhattan.
Hudson Yards' first phase at the eastern rail yards continues to make significant progress. Steel superstructure at the second office tower, 30 Hudson Yards, continues its rise at the northeastern corner of the rail yards. Designed by KPF, the 92-story, 1,287-foot tower will house Time Warner Inc. and feature an open-air observation deck.

At the corner of West 30th Street and 10th Avenue, the mega developments' first office tower has topped out and is almost fully clad with its glass curtain wall. Also designed by KPF, the 52-story tower at 10 Hudson Yards will house the likes of Coach, Loreal, and SAP.

Work is also underway on the retail building located in between the two office towers, with superstructure topped out and work underway on the east façade. The 1,000,000 square feet retail structure is designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects and will be anchored by the Nieman Marcus department store chain.

The first residential tower, 15 Hudson Yards, has yet to progress beyond the excavation and foundation stage of construction. Designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro with Ismael Leyva Architects, the 70-story condo and rental tower has already seen a significant redesign that has stripped the tower of its most ambitious features.

Hudson Yards
Hudson Yards' first phase at the eastern rail yards is steadily making progress. At the corner of West 30th Street and 10th Avenue, the mega developments first office tower is close to topping out. Designed by KPF, the 52-story tower at 10 Hudson Yards will house the likes of Coach, Loreal, and SAP. Currently, the tower has only a few floors of superstructure left to erect before topping out.
The second office tower, 30 Hudson Yards, has recently started rising above ground at the northeastern corner of the rail yards. Also designed by KPF, the 92-story, 1,287-foot tower will house Time Warner Inc. and feature an open-air observation deck.
Work is also underway on the retail building located in between the two office towers, with superstructure topped out and the first façade panel up on the east façade. The 1,000,000 square feet retail structure is designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects and will be anchored by the Nieman Marcus department store chain. The perforated and embossed metal panel that has recently gone up on site looks quite similar to the copper panels that adorn the de Young Museum in San Francisco by Herzog & de Meuron.

Designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro with Ismael Leyva Architects, the 70-story condo and rental tower has already seen a significant redesign that has stripped the tower of its most ambitious features. Here's hoping the same doesn't happen to DS+R's design for the adjacent Culture Shed.

10 Hudson Yards
Construction has reached the 27th floor at 10 Hudson Yards, surpassing the half way mark at the first tower at Related's Hudson Yards mega development. The 52-story, 1.7 million square feet commercial office tower by KPF will be the new corporate home for Coach, L'Oreal and SAP. Curtain wall installation has reached the 16th floor and is composed of full floor height units without the more commonly used visible spandrel panel at the floor slab. The use of full floor units without visible spandrel is a recent trend in New York office buildings, such as the new World Trade Center towers, and even the new residential tower at 400 Park Avenue South.

10 Hudson Yards
Structure has reached the 18th floor at KPF's 52-story, 1.7 million square feet commercial office tower at the Hudson Yards mega development. It's the first of four office towers to be built by Related on the Eastern Rail Yard portion of the Hudson Yards master plan. Curtain wall installation is currently underway at the eastern façade on 10th Avenue. Completion of the tower is slated for mid 2015 with construction underway around the clock.

The first tower at Related's Hudson Yards mega development continues its rise towards 892 feet and 52 stories. When completed in July 2015, it will be the new corporate home for Coach, L'Oreal and SAP. A Fairway Market will be located at the Ground Level. Currently, the concrete structure has reached several floors above the High Line's third section. The overhang of the tower along 30th Street will allow for a 60 foot high "balcony" for the park.

The first tower of Related's Hudson Yards mega project has reached above the portion that encompasses the High Line. Coach will occupy the office floors 09 to 26 that are underway now, while L'Oreal and SAP will occupy the floors above. The building is currently 85% leased. When it tops out, 10 Hudson Yards will reach 52 occupiable floors with 3 additional floors above for mechanical equipment, totaling 1.7 million square feet.
