Construction Update: 1802 2nd Avenue - Inspir Carnegie Hill

Construction is wrapping up at Maplewood Senior Living’s Inspir Carnegie Hill on the Upper East Side. Designed by Handel Architects, the 23-story, 215-unit assisted living residential tower features a board formed concrete exterior with wood accents and bronze framed window wall. At care floors there is a double bay of planted balconies with climbing vines that can be accessed by sliding glass walls. A Sky Park at the tower’s 16th floor setback provides further connection to the outdoors.

Handel Architects' concrete diagrid tower at Lincoln Square is approaching actual topping out, following the ceremonial celebration a few weeks back.  The tarp covering the lower half of the floors has been removed to reveal the black framed windows of the exterior enclosure.  When completed, the 20 story tower will accommodate 239 residential units.

Field Update: 400 Park Avenue South

Structure has reached the half way point at Portzamparc's 42 story geometrical tower, one of a new crop of towers that draws similarities to the recent Bank of America Tower. The massing combines two main rectangular volumes with more geometrically playful elements on either side and at the corner of the block.  Curtain wall has progressed to the seventh floor, helping to reveal the complexity of the project's geometry with the amount of non standard glazing unit shapes.
